dear aaron,
you are so smart. i know all babies are smart, but you astound me. you are the cutest, sweetest little guy. here are things i want to remember for sure.
- you now can roll over (generally in the mid-morning, because you want to eat).
- you smile and play with whoever is willing to share in your joy of life, and that makes extended family very, very happy!
- your little tooth point is still deciding whether or not it's going to come soon, which causes some uncomfortable days, but you are such a trooper!
- speaking of such toughness, you did incredibly well with your shots. when you got them, i picked you up and you fell asleep, sleeping the whole way home, so you could then wake up in your own bed with me right there. i think you have a high pain tolerance like your auntie em.
- you still love your rainforest. i'm so grateful for it, because i think it's helped you transition in this move more than anything else!
- you like to be held differently depending on the person holding you. it's pretty funny. a general rule, though, is that you need to be able to see what is going on around you, unless you just want to sleep, in which you need to be able to bury your head.
- you still hold on tight to fabric and clothing when sleeping. i think it's adorable.
- you really miss daddy-snuggle-time. i don't blame you.
- you had your first diaper rash (in disposables for a whole week and a half while moving!). it was awful, but we got you back in the cloth, and you were so happy about that.
- bath time is just as much fun as ever. i finally got you an infant bath tub so you can play longer and not tweak my back. it's pretty awesome.
- you love to chew your fingers, generally while they are still in a fist. it's been quite entertaining!
- when daddy calls, i put him on speaker and let you listen to his voice while looking at his picture. you stare, and smile when he talks. i can tell you recognize the face and voice, and that just makes me so happy.
- your uncle has a german shepherd, and you are still not sure how you feel about him. but he is super good with you, and has to check on you every time you cry. i think you two will become friends, in time.
you are so sweet. i know you miss daddy, and i do too. but i'm so glad you are adjusting well to the new environment and everything. you are changing so much every day, it's amazing!
