four months

dear aaron

i love you more each day.  you are such an amazing little boy!  you are getting so big, and i hate it while loving it at the same time, because it means you are learning and becoming the little person you need to be, but time is just flying and it's going too fast.  i try to make the most of each day with you, you are just so amazing.

- you officially roll over successfully by yourself, no doubts about it.  and you like to tweak your neck when on your back - pretty sure you're figuring out how to roll over onto your tummy.
- you have the MOST ADORABLE laugh, ever.  we have successfully gotten you to giggle on multiple occasions, and just like when you were learning to smile, i spend half my time trying to get you to do it.
- we still have to go to your check up, but you are definitely not small.  the clothes you are wearing are 6 months...  so they're wide, but just barely long enough!
- you stare at me and nana when we're eating, and i just know you want to try what we've got, if only so you know what it is (not necessarily to actually eat it).
- you stare at daddy's picture mostly every day, and talk to him.  i think i mentioned this last month, but that was just barely starting, and here we are a month later and you still do.  it's cute.
- you are so much better at going to sleep on your own, but wow you still fight it.  there is just too much going on with too many things to look at haha!
- you're getting close to saying "mama", "dada"... just using your consonants.  sooo fun to hear how you are getting the hang of it!  you definitely say "hi"/"hey" though, when you see me or nana.
- you absolutely love christmas lights.  you stare at them in amazement any time you see them.  so you love walking around the house right now!
- you prefer to "stand" whenever you can.  so i pulled out your johnny jump-up, and when wrapped in a blanket you touch the ground with your toes and twirl about.  you love the new experience of stretching those legs.
- oh the car seat.  you still hate it.  but you did discover (just this past sunday!) the side windows show trees and things as we pass, so i'm hoping this helps.  so far covering your eyes so you go to sleep is still the best thing, though.
- your uncle's dog, being a german shepherd, is very protective of you.  and you are fascinated by him.  the two of you talk when you are playing on your mat, and it's terribly entertaining!
- you like to put everything in your mouth.  and when i say everything, i mean everything!
- you are a couch potato if there are bright colors on the screen.  your favorite is my itunes visualizer.  it's pretty funny watching your little "O" face see the different patterns and colors dance around.
- you love to play.  you are constantly watching and mimicking and smiling and looking around to see what else you can grab.  it's wonderful.
- you constantly wiggle while eating.  i make sure to have several fingers ready for you to grab so as to stabilize somewhat, but you just have to move 24/7!  and you still eat like a champ, showing me how hungry you are by opening your mouth very wide, every time, even when half asleep!
