do you know what today is?

neither do i.  i just had to look at the calendar to tell you.  the 26th of january.  it's a thursday.  i'm finding that my plan to stay busy learning and edifying myself is getting sidetracked.  see, at first i was finding lots of uplifting things in the blogs i browse and facebook.  but i'm starting to get sick of it all... again.  i don't want to just write off friends though.  so i'll stay on the 'interwebs', as a friend says, for a while longer.  however, i am going to seriously try to only find the uplifting stuff.  it's hard, but i'll do it.  i have a confession.  i hate politics.  it makes me physically sick - no, i'm serious.  but i'm going to try to educate myself with an open mind.  and just avoid the crap that is so prevalent.  this is my goal.

on the bright side, i'm learning spanish fairly quickly with rosetta stone.  that makes me happy.  and i'm reading my scriptures daily - this is a habit i have been trying to instill in myself for a while.  somehow it's always been so difficult.  so far, though, i'm doing really good.  and it's amazing what a difference it really can make!  i find i'm more patient and understanding toward others, i'm calmer and more at peace with myself, and i feel more full - mentally and emotionally.  it's really nice.  so this is what i'm doing better with.

i'm going to see joey in 2 weeks, from today.  i'm so excited for this.  aaron is getting so big so fast, i can't wait to share him with joey, even if it's only for 2 days.  this is what i'm looking forward to.
