dear aaron
wow what a month this has been! this month's measurements were 14.7 pounds, 25.5 inches long. you really know how to keep me on my toes, what with rolling all over, and getting so close to crawling (it's more of a pulling to get around...). here are some exciting things about this month:
- you rode on a plane for the first time! i was really worried it would be a miserable experience, but we were lucky to have an entire row to ourselves, so there was plenty of room to lay down or sit and not bother anyone. you fell asleep just in time for take off, and you LOVED when we landed! you woke up about 10 minutes before landing, and because it was dark you loved seeing the city lights, and stared out the window (standing, like always). then, as we descended, you would squat down, then when we leveled off you stood up again, only to repeat this as we descended in steps. you were fantastic. (the flight home was a little more difficult thanks to being in the aisle seat with the rest of the row taken, too, and the return flight was 2 hours longer than the incoming flight... but you still did really well!)
- we got to see daddy! you reached for him, wanted him to hold you, and constantly said "dada, dada, dada" the second weekend we were with him. it was awesome.
- we thought you were going to get a tooth this month... but it's still teasing us. so teething is happening, but no tooth yet. this has made for several uncomfortable days and nights throughout the month.
- you're still not sleeping through the night. we've started giving you foods to taste (and to teeth on!) but this next month will bring on food to start really eating so hopefully you can learn to sleep through the night. we'll see how it goes.
- you're so close to crawling! you pull yourself with your arms, but the legs are still uninvolved. the toes are starting to help though!
- cups. you love them. you want any and all that you see, and if they are out of reach you throw a tantrum. you're learning the word "no" haha.
- you now say "night-night" (not enunciated, but it's obvious what you're saying), "no night-night", "mama", "dada", and you try to copy me when i say "all done!".
- you love watching people's tongues. it's easy to do as everyone likes to make silly faces for you, but you try to mimic them every time. hence raspberries are common, as is just sticking the tip of your tongue out as you look around.
we love you so much aaron. you keep mommy going on hard days, and you love to giggle at the simplest things. you reach for everything, roll around everywhere, and like chewing on everything. you make everyone's days better just by being you. we're so blessed to have you in our lives!
love, mommy
