dear aaron,
this month flew by! oh my goodness i can now tell people you're "almost 2". what a weird thought, and yet wonderful, too. you have become such an adorable little monkey, and everyone always tells me how cute you are. they also always tell me what gorgeous eyes you have (because you DO have really awesome eyes). i love how your imagination is growing more with your knowledge of the world, and you are constantly wanting to learn more. you love to see how things work, especially things in nature. you seem just as excited as a 20 month old can be for a new baby, and it makes me happy when you want to snuggle or kiss baby. you love everyone and the best thing in the world would be to have everyone together, every day all day. maybe someday we can do that for you.
- your vocabulary has expanded so much just since last month! you're constantly talking, and constantly copying what others say. seriously, i think the words you can say doubled or even tripled since last month. and your speech improves every day. you're so excited to finally SAY what you've been wanting to for a while - it's great to figure out that tongue!
- so potty training is not happening yet. we're still working on the scary toilet seat. but it's a work in progress. the good thing is that you now recognize when you need to go, and tell me when you need a new diaper. small steps that are heading in the right direction!
- more teeth are coming in again. as soon as one finished popping up, another starts cutting through. you sure do enjoy them though, eating is more fun than ever.
- you really, really, REALLY like sticking to your schedule. nap time is definitely between twelve and one o'clock every afternoon... or else... it makes it so much easier for me, though, so no complaints here. i'm just glad you've always appreciated a schedule, because mommy does too :)
- some things i forgot to mention last month are: you walk pigeon-toed, which i never noticed before because you're normally running (when your toes point forward). also, you love to sing songs, and if i ask you to sing you'll sing "la la la" with me. two new words last month that were just too adorable (or not...) were "no" and "cute". i really did not enjoy your "no" streak (which thankfully was replaced with "done"), but the "cute"... oh my goodness. if you see anything for ana, you point to it and say "cute!".
- a particular new word this month that i love is "snuggle". you tell me when it's snuggle time, or when you want to snuggle with me and daddy at night.
- you are a chocoholic. if you see chocolate, forget eating anything else until that chocolate disappears, preferably into your mouth. at least i know what to do for your birthday this year.
- i forgot to mention last month that in addition to high-fives (which you've given for several months now), you like to do "fist-bumps". thank you, uncle ben :)
monkey, you are too adorable. you make my days so much better, albeit trying sometimes. i love you so so so so so much!
