five months

dear ana,

you are such an angel.  you smile at everyone, snuggle up tight under our chins and over our hearts, and want to be with aaron every chance you can.  you are growing so fast!

- my goodness you can move!  rolling all over the place and scooting yourself forward, you maneuver yourself around the floor to get what you want, especially beaded lizards.

- you sit up pretty well, which i wasn't expecting to happen just yet.  you still need a tiny bit of support, but you are getting the hang of it pretty fast!

- you love nakey time.  if only clothes were not required, ever.  life would be perfect.

- you are teething.  there isn't anything to show yet, but the finger chomping and perpetual drool are constant.  and mommy feels a little more on the bottom right... but teeth move up and down all the time, so we'll see when one actually pops through.  it's still not very comfortable!

- you still sleep a lot, but we're solidifying nap time even more, with the morning nap, afternoon nap, and late afternoon nap.  it helps that mommy is super busy in the mornings and late afternoons... so you decide sleeping is better than complaining about it :)

- you miss aaron if you wake up before he does, and stop crying when he comes into the room.  you are so fascinated by and love him, but sometimes it's a little much (i.e.: waking up at 630am and deciding to pull his hair because he's still asleep but close enough!).  most of the time it works out just fine, as he likes to show off for you.

- eating is becoming more uncomfortable for mommy as you try to eat while watching aaron/Daddy at the same time.  not so awesome.  you do like to grab for drinks/food while the rest of us eat though, so we'll definitely be ready when your tummy can handle some of this stuff!

- you also like flint, but haven't successfully pulled on his ears yet, much to your dismay and mommy's reflexes.  apparently puppy kisses are awesome though... not so much for mommy...

- you love blankies.  you can't fall asleep without one, and love to bury your face in them while playing.  it's adorable.

- you love to grab at faces, and mommy's hair.  sometimes it's cute, sometimes it just hurts ha!  but you are figuring us out, and it's great to see your intense, concentrating face staring into ours as you pull and prod.

i'm so grateful for nap time snuggles, because life is so much crazier than when aaron was your age.  but i love holding you close and feeling your tight grip on my collar or fingers.  you remind me to smile when i need the reminder most.
