dear aaron,
my dear independent snuggle-bug... you make me laugh and cry so many times in one day. i am a better mom, and a better person, for and because of you. i love you so much i can't breathe sometimes... or maybe that's because you sat on me again....
- you watched your first live-action superhero movies this month! the first one was at uncle geoff's house, where you watched spiderman 2 (mommy was more nervous than you were!!) and then at miemie's house you watched captain america 2 (you were excited to see it all, but even more excited when you saw the old suit he puts on halfway through). i never thought i would let you watch any of these movies before you were at least school age, but because daddy was right there snuggling you through them all, you had absolutely no nightmares, and you were grinning from ear to ear when the superhero saves the day and takes down the bad guys. i have a hard time letting you watch them, because i want you to stay sensitive and innocent, but the fact that you watched them and know enough about right vs. wrong, and want to talk about every little thing, makes me smile (and sometimes laugh!), and i'm looking forward to sharing the joy of watching them with you.
- you are adorable when playing with ana. you take care of her, and want her to share in your adventures, real or imaginary. it is the best thing, having a constant playmate right there. you've even taken to hugging her randomly!
- you now share your bed with ana, and when i told you we needed to because we can't get her own yet, you just accepted it, and go to bed as easily as you ever did. (which means you still drag out stories or songs, or some other method of prolonging bed time, but you don't complain about her being on the other end at all!)
- you are obsessed with video games, whether on the wii or our phones. since we've been sick so much lately, i haven't minded, and it's actually been wonderful in letting me take care of ana or things around the house, but now that we're on the mend, i need to figure out what the rules are concerning all things screened, otherwise you would just stay on a game all day. such your daddy's boy!
- you stay in your bed if ana is also staying in bed, but when she comes to our bed, you have to join too. i honestly don't know how i'll fall asleep when you two stay in your own beds the whole night.... i imagine deeply haha ;)
- still potty training. it's taking a lot longer because we keep changing things on you kids. but i need to learn of some tricks for staying dry at night! almost there.
superheroes dominate your life. i am so curious to see what you end up doing, because even when you play at the park or with balls or draw... anything else... you still relate it to superheroes. i'm glad you have daddy to be your biggest superhero example, and you have such a big heart i know you will always be a superhero for those who need one. i love you so much aaron.
