29 months

dear ana,
this month has gone by so fast, and you have shown repeatedly what a great big sister you are.  here are things i want to remember from this month.

- you are starting to make sense of scripture reading, and tell us stories now and again.  there was one time in particular this past month where you picked up daddy's little copy of scripture and opened it, pretending to read, and saying, "if we be nice, and be happy, we can all go inside".  it was adorable.

- you literally always have a hug and kiss for baby reed.  you ask if you can touch him, then gently and randomly poke him ha!  you always want to hold him, and you make sure i know when he needs to eat (any time he's crying).

- i can now say, "be quiet so you don't wake the baby", which has been a marvelous relief for me since you are so dramatic most of the time, howling if something is not right in your eyes.  we'll see how long this lasts.

- when you try to sign "i love you", you either hold up two fingers on one hand, like a "peace" sign, or four fingers, two "peace" signs together, haha!  i forgot how much coordination it takes to make that sign, and it's fun to watch you figure it out.

- the "incredibles" movie is your favorite right now.  you love to be strong, or fast, or make force fields.  you also prefer to watch it first thing in the morning, when you wake up before the sun...

- if a dress is too poofy, you hate it.  nana brought you an adorable princess dress, and you weren't even in it all the way before begging to take it off.  too much poof impedes your ability to run around ha!

- you love to brush your teeth, and would carry your toothbrush around all day if i let you.  i am going to be relying on your reminders as i try to make it a better habit.

- we went on a date just the other day.  you have been having a harder time adjusting to taking a back seat for reed, and it was so great to have some time to focus on just you without worrying about the others.  we'll be doing this frequently i think.

i love you diva.
love, mommy
