4,5 and 2,7

4,5 and 2,7 = 53 and 31 months, or 4 years 5 months and 2 years 7 months.  maybe this will be easier?  hopefully.  and why haven't i done it sooner haha!

dear aaron,
this past month has been a whirlwind, too.  christmas was fun with lots of family time.  you are such a great helper with the other two.  with a new class at church we've had to enjoy lots more snuggle time too.  you're obviously trying to figure out more of who you are because there are times where you are just about to loose it (or already have) and i just look into your eyes and see the desperate plea for a hug.  it's amazing how even now you still bury your face into me, just breathing in and out and holding on.  you are very aware of others emotions still, and thankfully my hormones have started to even out since reed's delivery.  you teach me so much though, in how to interact with others and to be more aware of my actions and reactions to life situations.  you are definitely copying and hearing and seeing!
- you made up this "game" with ana, where everyone takes a turn saying a "funny word" and then everyone laughs.  this funny word is made up, comprising silly sounds and combinations, or random words said together, or a combination of the two.  it is the new favorite thing to do!
- i  don't know why you said this, but it was hilarious to overhear: "someone lost a hairbroom."
- you and ana have started to play house more, and i overheard this one morning from my room, while you guys were in the playroom: aaron, "where are you going mom, to the store to get groceries?"  ana called back, "no, i'm going to get milk!..."
- you're only waking up once in the evenings now, when daddy and i go to bed, to use the restroom.  i'm so proud of you!  and relieved :)
- you're trying to read.  guess what we'll start working on more consciously...!

i love you monkey.  i don't feel like i could ever say that often enough!
love, mommy

dear ana,
you've also done pretty well with how crazy it's been.  you were so excited to go see daddy's mimi, and visits from everyone.  you are definitely figuring out where the lines are, and what the rules are for some new things.  you love to help with reed, and always make sure i know where he is and if he's ok or upset.  you love to sing to him.  you are definitely still my drama queen though.  we've had some stubborn battles for power, leaving everyone exhausted.  you need the hugs as much as aaron does, but you push away at the same time you need them.  you will ask for snuggles, as you kick... we're still trying to figure each other out i guess.  i try to hold you and snuggle you as much as i can, which is never enough for either of us.  i hope you know how much i treasure those moments!
- you have a great imagination!  you love mixing various characters you already know, and making up new ones.
- hello squirrel girl!  you are hilarious with how much you love being squirrel girl, and love to gather and throw your various squirrels (note: all imagined).  i think my favorite is at bedtime when you say, "mom, i need my squirrels!"  so i proceed to throw them all to you, and you catch them and they snuggle into your neck and on your face.  and i mean i chuck them at you, and you giggle and pretend they are snuggling.  it's hilarious.  i'm grateful you haven't tried to approach real squirrels though.
- i don't remember if i mentioned your back molars that came in, and finally finished coming through.
- you ask me about wearing underwear all the time instead of just when you're awake.  i might start doing the same thing we've done with aaron, and just wake you up throughout the night so your body can start to really understand what needs to happen.  we'll see.
- you also love to learn of course, and we are working on counting and shapes and various things like that.
- you love board games!  we got candyland for christmas, and you love playing that, enjoying the game regardless of who wins.  it's adorable.
- you can finally sign ILY on your own, and it melted me heart the first time you did it.  we were sitting in sacrament meeting, and you tapped me on the shoulder and showed me what you had been working on for a few moments: finally getting your fingers to the right positions.  you were smiling so sweetly and your eyes were so big.  ILY too, ana.

you have the biggest heart, and an attitude to match.  you push me more than either of your brothers, and yet i'm learning so much from you because of this.  i'm so glad you like spending as much time with me as you can, and i love our little dates.  i love you so much my diva.
love, mommy
